fireside dreaming.

it’s cold here in connecticut. like really, really cold. possibly the coldest it’s been since i moved here almost 1 year ago. and while i wouldn’t trade my move or home here for the world, this weather is leaving me a little nostalgic for the perpetually comfy climate of my life in santa barbara. until we can sneak away for a mini vacation to my old stomping ground, i’ve taken to a fireside virtual stay-cation- perusing images of some of my favorite places from the comfort of my flannel pj’s, ugg slippers & hot tea. on my mind right now? san ysidro ranch, one of my favorite tucked-away havens {not to mention honeymoon destination for jfk & miss jackie o}…

weekend recap: hamp it up.

as promised, i made a conscious effort this past weekend to take more pictures and document our summer fun in the hamptons. and while we did pretty well snapping shots during the first several hours, the days {and photo ops} eventually got away from us, leaving just these cuties to show for the weekend. luckily, it was a beautiful, sunny day and henry and the boys were looking their finest… leaving us with some pretty great pics. quality over quantity folks. for a few more gems, check out my instagram:

with one hamptons weekend under my belt now {and another one just around the corner} i’ve been keeping my eye out for the perfect beach bag stuffers… some items i was prepared for {sunnies/flips/floppy hat} while others i fell a little short {water bottle/tunes}. with that in mind, here are some of my summertime beachside must-haves:

sunny straw tote: scoop/ big enough to carry all your beachside essentials

light weight beach blankie: steven allen/ these light weight blankets are perfect for lounging or to use as a wrap when the sun goes down

eco-friendly water bottle: bobble water bottle/ to keep hydrated during those sunny days

surf-sprayed tresses: bumble and bumble/ don’t bother trying to tame the beach wave… just let it happen

fun floppy hat: rag & bone/ to keep the uv rays at bay or for a little privacy

day-to-night sandals: theodora & callum/ chic sandals to take you from beach to bbq in one fell swoop

glam-ready shades: retrosun/ a must have in any bag and the perfect ensemble pick-me-up
