loving lately.

{haribo cola gummies}

with the new year in full swing, i’ve finally settled into my routine. gone are the hectic events of the holidays & daily activities are back in place. the past few months brought a lot of changes, & with that came some new favorites- from gummy candies i had never tried to a favorite piece of arm candy from my bf.  here a few of my current favorite things- a little mix of new & old.

{blushing peonies: a constant favorite}

{vita fede titan bracelet: a favorite christmas present & a current staple}

{2 blind mice: an adorable new cheese board that’s been put to good use as of late}

{while i’m not a regular whiskey drinker, i’ve grown fond of a splash of the boyfriend’s bourbon of choice now & then}

you give me fever.

tonic & i had brief love affair in college- for years vodka tonics were my drink of choice. so much so that i eventually couldn’t stand the thought of them and made the switch to vodka sodas {or, if we’re being honest, just straight up vodka} i must have had a bad experience with the mixer at some point, but the thought of that overly sweet/syrupy taste made me cringe there for a while…

this all changed when a friend introduced me to fever tree tonic- or as we call it: the most delicious tonic ever. it has a more subtle/crisp taste than your average tonic with refreshing, citrusy notes… and, quite frankly, it’s delicious. some might even say life-altering. and with the sweltering heat we’ve been experience this summer, an evening vodka-fever tree has become one of my favorite ways to end my day…

{the perfect ingredients: kettle one, naturally light fever tree tonic water, farmer’s market lemons}

{my new favorite coasters}

hocus pocus

this week i finally got around to adding some halloween touches to the apartment… with my halloween cd on full blast {yes, one of those cheesy ones you buy at the supermarket} and the smell of pumpkin muffins fresh baked in the kitchen, i added the touch of halloween trees, some faux webs & sticky bats to bring some seasonal flair to my abode. with only a few short weeks left until my favorite holiday, i look forward to enjoying the eerie decor while i can…

{a few flying bats now inhabit my entry way}

 {a glammed-up pumpkin & shimmering spider}

 {a faux web will welcome trick or treaters}

{loving this pumpkin tree}

{an eerie centerpiece pre-ornaments}

weekend re-cap

with all the kardashian kommotion here in santa barbara this past weekend, many of us locals opted for a more mellow approach to the past few days, with many of our friends either leaving town or staying inside.  my boyfriend & i chose to spend most of the weekend at home: playing games, reading, catching up on work and spending some much needed quality time with our henry.  although i secretly admit that i wish i had caught a glimpse of the “K” clan… i did enjoy the relaxation of quiet nights at home.  here are a few images of my weekend…

 {september issues: the ones we wait for all year long}

{game night: part of incorporating “adult dates” into our life}

{oldies but goodies: i love cuddling up with some of my favorite dvds}

{honey & sea salt caramels via dessert first girl: my salty/sweet project for next week}
