family dinner.

yay for three day weekends! this past weekend was spent with family {my two sisters were in town} and good friends {the bff made the long haul from the big city to the ‘burbs} and lots of good food. and a little bit of champagne.

we had a few family dinners, the first of which was done primarily on the grill. we stocked up on fresh seafood- lobster/crab claws/shrimp/clams- added some olive oil, threw in our favorite veggies, and had a mixed grill feast in no time. my sister tossed hers with some straight up pasta… which was pretty life altering. i foresee a lot of this grilling come summer, and it’s making pretty excited.

loving lately.

{a few stray chips that managed to weasel their way home with us}

the better half of this week was spent catching up from my exciting, although slightly exhausting, trip out west- fighting an impending cold, getting back into my gym routine {soul cycle is my new obsession}, and gearing up for my start of graduate school next week. and now that the weekend is finally here, i look forward to some quiet time at home, maybe a little bit of baking, a rangers game viewing {yay the nhl is back!} and one last hooray with the sisters before they head back to their respective schools. until then, here are a few things i’ve been loving as of late…

{a belated christmas gift i’ve been living in}

{our current go-to green: stay tuned for a yummy brussels sprout salad recipe}

{a vegas souvenir: the lv mahina bag that i had been lusting after for a year}

{wish: a clean, powdery scent i’ve been wearing in anticipation of the spring}

apples to apples.

last week, a friend & i set out on our first apple picking trip of the season. the weather was perfect- crisp & cool- and the apples were, well, everywhere.  needless to say, i came home with enough to feed a small army… along with 2 pumpkins, which really put me in the autumn mood. and while i love displaying mounds of red delicious & granny smiths as a rustic centerpiece, i thought i should put these apples to use and make my first fall dessert of the season: an apple tart. using a super easy recipe found here, i was able to get some use out of roughly 3 apples… now what to do with the other 25?

my week in a nutshell.

this week’s cleanse marks the fourth blue print cleanse for this gal. needless to say, i sort of love it. i scheduled this week’s cleanse to accompany my best friend’s first go at the bpc… strength in numbers i guess. and like the three prior, it was amazing. i felt energized, my skin hydrated and clear, and i finished craving clean/whole foods… think kale, apples, melon etc. and contrary to popular belief: i really didn’t feel hungry. if you’re looking for an easy, delicious pre-summer cleanse, this is definitely the way to go. order yours here.
