loving lately.

{a few stray chips that managed to weasel their way home with us}

the better half of this week was spent catching up from my exciting, although slightly exhausting, trip out west- fighting an impending cold, getting back into my gym routine {soul cycle is my new obsession}, and gearing up for my start of graduate school next week. and now that the weekend is finally here, i look forward to some quiet time at home, maybe a little bit of baking, a rangers game viewing {yay the nhl is back!} and one last hooray with the sisters before they head back to their respective schools. until then, here are a few things i’ve been loving as of late…

{a belated christmas gift i’ve been living in}

{our current go-to green: stay tuned for a yummy brussels sprout salad recipe}

{a vegas souvenir: the lv mahina bag that i had been lusting after for a year}

{wish: a clean, powdery scent i’ve been wearing in anticipation of the spring}

mane event.

after months of coveting my sister’s gorgeous ombre tresses, i decided to bite the bullet and try the trend on for size… i know i’m a little late to jump on the trend’s bandwagon, but i couldn’t resist. after much research {and lots of drooling} here are some of my favorite takes on the look…

lube it up.

my boss has been begging me to give my hair a little t.l.c: “can you please buy a mask?” “stop washing it every day” ” you need a protein treatment” ok. ok. i get it. so when she came at me last week, fists filled with oil, i surrendered. and it was the best decision i’ve made in a while- beauty-wise that is. i’ve used moroccan oil in the past- mainly on vacation, extensions blazing, whilst worshipping the sun… but since rocking the hair au-natural {excluding a recent ombre a-la frederic fekkai} i figured i no longer needed the suped-up lube on my super fine tresses. i stand corrected. a little oil a day leaves my hair soft, shiny, and smelling oh-so good… making me super happy to have waved that proverbial white flag.

morning rituals.

getting up in the morning is hard for me. i like my bed. it’s warm & comfortable & really too big. and i like cuddling with henry. even when he’s sitting on my face/legs/back. so it is a rare occasion that i do get up with ample amount of time to go through a proper morning ritual. typically my morning involves rolling out of bed, taking a quick shower and throwing on a sparse amount of makeup. so, when i woke up at 5:15 this past monday morning {don’t ask, i have no idea}, i took the time to indulge in morning activities typically enjoyed by those quite less lazy than i:

{bath time! i was finally able to enjoy the yummy bath supplies i’ve had for months: fresh lemon sugar bath cubes & philosophy cinnamon bubbles}
{mini facial: la prairie face wash followed by a masque}

{putting my face on: rather than quickly throwing on my trusty juno oil & some mascara, i had time to apply the whole shabang: la prairie tinted moisturizer/cle de peau concealer/laura mercier liquid eyeshadow/sisley eyeliner & mascara/mac lipglass}

{she’s a creep and kept staring}

{all tied together with my favorite summer scent}
