you give me fever.

tonic & i had brief love affair in college- for years vodka tonics were my drink of choice. so much so that i eventually couldn’t stand the thought of them and made the switch to vodka sodas {or, if we’re being honest, just straight up vodka} i must have had a bad experience with the mixer at some point, but the thought of that overly sweet/syrupy taste made me cringe there for a while…

this all changed when a friend introduced me to fever tree tonic- or as we call it: the most delicious tonic ever. it has a more subtle/crisp taste than your average tonic with refreshing, citrusy notes… and, quite frankly, it’s delicious. some might even say life-altering. and with the sweltering heat we’ve been experience this summer, an evening vodka-fever tree has become one of my favorite ways to end my day…

happy monday.

this past weekend was the first one i’ve had off in some time, so i took the opportunity to  enjoy some much needed spa time, catch up on some errands and head to the city. saturday night was one of the most fun i’ve had in a while- spent with one of my oldest friends reminiscing about people we used to know, dancing to songs we used to love and, of course, enjoying delicious cocktails. while the gents at the party were less than thrilled with the song selection, we pulled out our best moves to old favorites from all saints to goo goo dolls… and, somehow, we managed to remember all {or at least most} of the lyrics. here’s one of our faves from our impromptu dance party:

happy monday.

confession: in high school i was a huge matchbox 20 fan. huge. in fact, i had forgotten just how huge of fan i was until the recent release of the band’s new single. and now that i have rob thomas on the brain i’ve been listening to my old school favorites on repeat. i’m talking 3 a.m/disease/push all day, every day for roughly a week now. is there a meeting for people like me? enjoy & happy monday!

fall footwear.

{no place like home: these crimson chloes are my new dorothy slippers}

in addition to my cool new monogrammed kicks, i’ve been investing in some fall shoes this summer. i blame the premature autumn shopping spree on the fact that i haven’t actually experienced the season {which happens to be my favorite} in 6 years. seeing as the average temperature in sb was a very cool 72 degrees, i rarely had the need for a seasonal wardrobe. thus, in anticipation of golden leaves on the ground and crisp mornings, i’ve been investing in some autumnal pieces. from ruby slippers to staple booties, here are some of my newest acquisitions… now cool down already.

{rag & bone booties are perfect for fall, but have already made their debut}

{comptoir des cotonniers boots: a great find at this year’s sidewalk sale}

and i’m anxiously awaiting my newest shopbop find from elizabeth & james:
