currently obsessed.

so i know i’m a little late on this one, seeing as these coveted sneaks have been seen on celebs and fashionistas for months now… but i woke up one day last week thinking: ok, i need a pair of isabel marant wedge sneakers. like yesterday. unfortunately everywhere, and i mean everywhere, is sold out. there are a few questionable websites claiming to sell these sought after soles… but it’s too risky. until then, i’ll continue to admire them from afar, hoping that some gracious boutique will call me saying that magic word: pre-order…

after spoiling us with several unseasonably warm and sunny days, the weather gods have humbled us and greeted this past weekend with some {much needed} rain… and while many cursed the inclement weather, i welcomed the raindrops as the perfect accessory to a highly anticipated lazy sunday- taking it as the perfect opportunity to put on my comfiest pj’s, wrap myself in the warmest of throws, treat myself to a true blood marathon and cuddle with henry dog for the entire day…

sadly, i couldn’t make it to coachella this year… but that doesn’t mean i can’t live vicariously through the laid back concert cool fashions of this year’s festival goers. from fringe and floppy hats to dicker boots and 70′s prints, i can’t wait to add a little coachella to wardrobe this summer…

hippie bites.

ever since i went vegan for roughly 3 weeks last year {and 3 weeks longer than anyone would have bet on}, i’ve been interested in simple but delicious vegan recipes. i really did love the way eating vegan made me feel, but at the end of the day the restrictions were a little too much for this lady… especially with the amount i love to eat out & entertain. and cheese! don’t make me say goodbye to my cheese!
but whenever i come across an easy, but still yummy, vegan treat i shed a small tear of joy and jump at the chance to try it out for myself. this cookie recipe took under 30 minutes from start to finish, i had most of the ingredients on hand, and the result was pretty tasty! and the fact that it was gluten free was a plus, as one of my childhood bff’s {and sister, and pretty much everyone else i know} has started giving gluten the axe.  but whether vegan or meat eater, gluten positive or negative, try these little cookies out… they’re pretty great!
ingredients:
  • 1 cup almond butter {or peanut butter}
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • ½ cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup melted chocolate chips for drizzle {can use carob, milk, dark, semi sweet, whatever you’d like!Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
recipe:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the peanut butter and the sugar. Sprinkle in the baking powder and mix well. Mix in vanilla extract and water. Finally, add in shredded coconut.
Using your hands, roll the dough into balls and place on the baking sheets. Lightly press down on the top of each ball with the palm of your hand, to slightly flatten.
Bake in preheated oven for roughly 8 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Add chocolate drizzle to your liking.
Enjoy!
