new york little black book

anyone that has spoken to me in the last 48 hours knows that i had the most amazing trip back east last week. not only did we get to celebrate the little sister’s birthday in style, but i also got to visit so many people & places that i haven’t seen for years while living here in california- making me not only super excited, but also confident, in the sometimes daunting move back home. while this past trip was only a few short days, we tried to pack in as many of our favorite things while leaving time to experience some new favorites as well.  here is a list of our new york trip, in a nut shell:

1. gramercy tavern

2. peels nyc

3. blt market at the ritz carlton

4. village tavern

5. wilfie & nell

current obsession

half way through {ok, 2 days into} our most recent trip to nyc i finally caved- i completely folded in the the middle of barney’s, bit the bullet, and added the isabel marant dicker boots to my ever growing collection. any tinge of regret i may have had was quickly assuaged, as i proceeded to wear them. every day. they are amazing- the scalloped top hits just right. they are super comfortable, the heel the perfect height that can take them from day to night. while i wore them with black skinnies and various tops throughout the week, i really look forward to pairing them with jean shorts and a hippie top a la kate bosworth this summer… although i’m not quite sure this look translates from coachella to the hamptons, but i’ll keep you posted!

sleeping beauty

typically, when i pick the henry dog up from the doggy hotel after several days away, he spends the next 2 days sleeping.  i have a feeling this reunion will be no different.  while always very excited to see his mama, and eager to give me lots of kisses, he then immediately retreats to his bed and proceeds to pass out in a deep slumber filled with lots of snoring.  its only been a few hours, but he has quickly fallen into such a sleep. i blame his “girlfriend” marcy, who he apparently played with all week… if only you could hear this symphony of snores.

gilded age

in hopes of starting the new year with all things glitz & glamour, i took some time to capture some of the shinier pieces in my life. from shimmery confetti garland, to gold accented bags i think i found enough flash to last me the next few months… or at least through my upcoming trip to nyc to celebrate the little sister’s birthday!
